White House Utility District is searching for a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties that support accurate and timely vendor payments, processing and maintenance of financial information, and maintaining accurate records while meeting strict deadlines. The starting salary for this position is $64,064/ annual. Wages may be negotiated based on prior experience, applicable certifications and licenses, and other credentials.

Typical responsibilities include:
- Processing and auditing accounts payable
- Setting up and maintaining vendor information and relationships
- Managing fixed assets from acquisition to disposal
- Assisting in general ledger closings
- Reconciling monthly bank statements
- Maintaining records and schedules for the annual audit

Candidates must be able to meet all physical requirements of the position including:
- Sit at a desk with frequent standing and movement including bending, stooping, and/or kneeling
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Frequent typing and data entry with use of a mouse that requires repetitive movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Work in an environment that involves everyday risks or discomforts that require routine safety precautions typically found in an office
- Must be willing and able to report to work for emergency duty in the event of a man-made disaster or an act of God. Emergency duties may involve tasks outside the scope of the employee’s normal work routine.
